(ANSA) - ROME, 03 DEC - The project for the creation of the first Italian digital platform of culture is underway, on the initiative of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (Mibact) together with Cassa Depositi ePrestiti.
This was announced by Cdp in a note specifying that "the platform - provided for by the Relaunch Decree - will be operational from the first months of 2021 and aims to support the performing arts sector, particularly affected during this year by the Covid-19 pandemic".
For the creation and management of the platform, ilMibact and Cdp have initiated an interview with Rai and the main operators present in the Italian market, following which an open competitive procedure was launched for the identification of the industrial partner.
CHILI Spa - a company active since 2012 in the sector of TV on demand services and which has over 4 million registered users - was selected for its international experience in the sector, the innovative technological infrastructure used and the strategic-commercial know-how useful to platform expansion.
A new company was set up to manage the platform, 51% controlled by Cdp and 49% by CHILI Spa.
Through the platform it will be possible to access a wide, diversified and very competitive offer for live and on-demand viewing of concerts and operas. theatrical, it will be possible to carry out virtual tours of the main Italian museums and major exhibitions of public interest, visit festivals and fairs and choose from a large catalog of films and other thematic contents.
On the platform it will also be possible to buy tickets and merchandising guaranteeing a simple and functional tool for those who want to return to visit the Italian artistic and cultural heritage in person when it is again possible to do so.
