 - In Italy, 8 out of 10 millennials usually consume frozen food at least once a week, with 35% consuming them at least twice a week.

This is what emerges from the Doxa - Italian Institute of Frozen Foods (Iias) "Millennials and frozen foods" survey conducted on 800 people between 24 and 40 years of age.

From the analysis it appears that in the first place among the frozen food most loved by the under 40s we find vegetables, whether they are intended as vegetables (in particular spinach and various vegetables) preferred by 1 millennials out of 2 (48%) whether they are leguminous such as peas and green beans (30%).

Followed by fish, processed (46%) and natural (42%), french fries (35%) and pizza (25%), together with the group made up of minestrone, soups and veloutés (24%).

It is also found that millennials do not only use frozen foods for convenience: the study shows that if once in two (50%) they use frozen foods because they have little time available, in 34% of cases, millennials take into consideration every whenever you want (34%), or when you want to cook something tasty (26%), quick return from sport (25%) or to say hello (18%).

During the lockdown period, in Italy, about 1 consumer under 40 out of 4 (26%) even doubled the consumption of frozen food.

Finally, with regard to "away from home", millennials attribute the use of frozen foods in the kitchen by restaurants, first of all, to having products available all year round (71%) and 60% choose what to eat or not at restaurant regardless of whether it is a frozen food, clearing the theme of the asterisk.
