well-known Italian product
is also affected.

"The quality and safety of our products have the highest priority for us", wrote the company

in a message.
The product
"RomiMarie GRISSINI TORINESI CON SEMI DI SESAMO 250g" is being recalled
"for reasons of preventive consumer protection".
The thin bread sticks are part of the
culinary tradition
in Italy
, but the product itself does not
come from the southern European country
.
According to the company, “a residue of the pesticide
ethylene oxide was
detected”
in the seed contained in the product
.
For this reason, the product has already been taken off the market.
Consumption is not recommended.
According to the
Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety
, the recall * applies to the following federal states:
Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia.
Various batch codes * or best before dates (best before dates) are affected.

Recently, there were several recalls within a short period of time due to the chemical.
Four different types of muesli * were affected.
Two bread baking mixes also had to be taken off the market.
