More than half of the Israeli population feels lonely due to the corona plague, slightly more than a quarter of them gained weight during the plague - and most adhere to corona guidelines, according to a survey conducted today (Thursday) by the Ministry of Health regarding Israelis' changes since the outbreak.

According to the survey, which was conducted between the end of the first wave of the epidemic, the opening of the economy and the removal of restrictions (from 13 May to 8 July) and the beginning of the restrictions of the second wave and the second closure (from 8 July to 17 September) among 2,580 respondents.

The results of the survey show that 51.5% of the respondents reported that since the onset of the plague they needed counseling, examination or treatment by or another treatment professional.

13.9% of them reported that they had some difficulty in obtaining the treatment they wanted to achieve.

However, 21.7% of all respondents reported that they avoided or rejected on their own initiative seeking necessary medical treatment at the HMO for fear of contracting the virus.

4.4% reported that they were denied admission to a hospital due to an urgent medical condition for fear of being infected.

The survey also shows that 66.4% are afraid of the plague (21.2% are very afraid and 54.2% are a little afraid).

53.3% of respondents reported feeling lonely, a report that was more common during the second wave.

43.3% of those who answered that they felt loneliness, answered that they feel more loneliness compared to the period before the plague.

The weight of the country’s residents also changed, with 28.6% of respondents reporting gaining weight since the onset of the plague, and 24.1% reporting eating more.

Regarding Corona's guidelines, 85.4% of those surveyed said they were more or less careful to maintain a two-meter distance in encounters with people who did not live with them, and a higher figure, 95.5%, reported that he was more or less careful about wearing a mask when leaving home.
