Finance Minister Olaf Scholz (SPD)
and
CSU regional group leader Alexander Dobrindt declared
on Wednesday, according to the Finance Ministry: “The nearly one million single parents in Germany should receive more support.” In addition, Scholz and Dobrindt are said to have agreed on the tax relief amount for single parents to double permanently to 4,008 euros.
According to the report, politicians spoke of a “strong signal” of
support and appreciation for single mothers and fathers
who have to bear very special burdens * in these times.
The agreement is part of the coalition's broader package to support women, which includes the law on a quota for women on company boards.
