(ANSA) - CARACAS, DEC 5 - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro met the guests of the 'International Accompaniment Program' for the parliamentary elections to be held tomorrow in the country without the participation of the opposition led by Juan Guaidó.

    Maduro met with Nicanor Moscoso, Guillermo Reyes and Alfredo Arvelo of the Latin American Council of Electoral Experts (Ceela) and with Tchambakou Ayassor, president of the Independent National Electoral Commission of Togo.


   Also present were Marina Urrizola and Carlos López of the Observatory of Latin American Affairs, José Campagnoli of the 'Grupo de Pueblo' and Jorge Drkos of the Electoral Observatory of the Conference of Latin American Political Parties (Alc).


    The meeting was attended by MEP José Manuel Pineda, the president of the Partido Progresista of Chile, CamiloLagos, the deputy of the Parliament of La Rioja (Spain), MaríaHenar Moreno and the representative of the National Assembly of Ecuador, Gabriela Rivadeneira.


    Maduro welcomed the presence in Caracas as observers of the electoral process of former Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa, currently living in Belgium, and the former Ecuadorian foreign minister, Ricardo Patiño.


    The first activity carried out was that of the establishment by the national electoral commission (Cne) of the devotional centers (14,221) that will host seats throughout the country.


    Tomorrow 20 million voters will be able to vote to choose, among 14,400 candidates from 107 political organizations, the 277 members of the National Assembly (AN) for the period 2021-2025. (ANSA).
