Shortly afterwards, the 82-year-old husband was ambushed in the nearby apartment and pushed to the floor.
The perpetrator was able to flee with the money he had stolen.
After the crime in the Wedding district, the police assume that it was the same perpetrator because the pensioner's handbag also contained her address.
A police spokesman announced on Saturday.
The investigators initially had no clues as to whether a man or a woman was behind it.
“We don't yet know whether it's a man or a woman.
What happened is still unclear, ”said the police spokesman.
The couple were reportedly unharmed.
