The Defense site in Pratica di Mare will be the national storage hub for the anti-covid vaccination campaign,
which the Italian government is preparing.
This was announced, in agreement with the Defense and Health Ministers, by the Extraordinary Emergency Commissioner, Domenico Arcuri.
It is a large military intermodal hub, optimal for the subsequent distribution of vaccines, able to accommodate air carriers, helicopters and a center of gravity for road connectivity.
The vaccine vials will be concentrated in the site, where large shelters are available, which will ensure maximum effectiveness for conservation and maximum safety levels for the stocks. The vaccines will then be distributed from there, by the Armed Forces with different carriers, to the numerous administration points that the plan has provided throughout the national territory, again in conditions of maximum safety.
