(ANSA) - TEHRAN, DECEMBER 05 - After a wave of online protests that saw the participation of millions of people, the Iranian Court canceled the death sentence for three young people arrested in protests for the high prices of November 2019, repressed at cost of hundreds of deaths, and ordered that they be tried in another court. This was reported by the Iranian agency Irna.
The three, Amirhossein Moradi, 26, Saeed Tamjidi, 28 and Mohammad Rajabi, 26, had been sentenced to death and were about to be hanged a few months ago, but their execution was suspended after a campaign for their salvation which saw the participation of masses of Iranians inside the country and abroad, with about 10 million retweets with the hashtag, # StopExecutionsinIran.
