It is difficult to summarize the elements of the relationship that binds the enthusiast to vinyl.

An enthusiast can be considered such only if he has thousands of pieces and, in the most serious cases, tens of thousands, the encumbrance is measured in linear meters and finding free meters to fill in a house is not easy.

It is an all-consuming passion that drives you to spend money and which is fueled by a strange sociability that has its agora in specialized shops, where generations of professionals have trained.

It is probably this passion that has made vinyl an industrial case: after the invention and the relative placing on the market of the CD, its de profundis was celebrated.

Today, in the era of intangible music consumption, CD is about to retire as vinyl continues to occupy a strong market position.

The history of this passion is dedicated to "Vinilici - because vinyl loves music", the first Italian docufilm dedicated to the subject.

Made with a crowdfunding operation by the Napoli Film Commission, it was born from an idea by Nicola Iuppariello and was written with Vincenzo Russo and is directed by director Fulvio Iannucci.

It is seen on the Amazon Prime Video platform starting December 3, distributed by 102 Distribution.

'Vinilici' wants to investigate the newfound interest in vinyl music in Italy.

In fact, vinyl records are no longer purchased only by collectors but also by a new and wider array of enthusiasts of different ages.

Vinyl currently accounts for 6% of the total market.

Total growth since 2012 is + 330% (source: FIMI).

The film starts from Naples, the original capital of music and disco in Italy.

It is not a technical project but a real act of love lived through some characters affected, even for professional reasons, by this addiction, including Renzo Arbore, Carlo Verdone, Mogol, Ron, Red Ronnie, Claudio Trotta .
