For these somewhat special Christmas celebrations during the Covid-19 period, the City of Paris nevertheless wanted to mark the occasion by offering a little magic to Parisians.
The City has in fact invested nearly a million euros to make the streets of the various shopping districts of the capital sparkle as well as three of its major emblematic squares: that of Concorde, Bastille and the square of the Hôtel de Ville. .
It is the obelisk of Concorde which opens the ball Friday, as of the night fallen, with a projection of white flakes falling on a blue light, surrounded by a forest of green and white fir trees.
A few onlookers, bundled up in a thick down jacket, braved the cold, the rain and the confinement, to come and take a few pictures of this Place de la Concorde dressed in its festive clothes.
It will be necessary to wait until December 11 to discover the illuminations of the July Column on Place de la Bastille and those of the Town Hall.
Parisians are also invited to make Paris sparkle at home, by decorating their windows or balconies and to share their photos via the hashtag #ParisScintille on social networks.
