The reopening of schools after a school year of empty classrooms appears as

a much closer possibility

for the Minister of Education of the Nation, Nicolás Trotta, who this Saturday anticipated that they expect

a massive return and in person

for the first months of 2021.

As he assured in radio statements this Saturday, the educational establishments of two districts will begin to receive students in February and the rest, between the first and second week of March.

By then, the head of the educational portfolio stressed, "the expectation is that we have a much better epidemiological situation than the one we are experiencing today."

With this diagnosis, added to the projection that the Covid-19 vaccination campaign will begin during the summer, which includes teachers, the Government is optimistic about the

gradual normalization of the teaching of classes

, which will begin with a system mixed presence and virtuality.

"The fact of

the vaccination,

and that the government prioritized the vaccination of teachers together with health professionals and security personnel,

consolidates that return with safety,

" said Trotta in dialogue with radio La Red.

Beyond optimism, the minister clarified that the start of the new school year will be

far from being like that of March 2020

, when quarantine had not yet been decreed due to the coronavirus health emergency.

As specified, the City of Buenos Aires and Jujuy will start the school year in February, while 17 provinces will do so at the beginning of March.

In the second week of that month, the remaining ones will finally be added.

"The return of the boys to the schools

will not necessarily be every day,

with all the boys," Trotta warned.

In this regard, he assured that the

protocols

to be implemented will be

the same as those currently in force

, and that they were applied so that students in the last years of the initial cycle, primary and secondary school began to attend educational establishments in small groups and some days and for a few hours.

The minister highlighted the

good results

of these procedures so far, and justified optimism for 2021 due to what happened in Europe, where, according to what he stated,

the fall in the number of infections during the summer

allowed later to begin to normalize school activity.

"Everything suggests" that the same can be done in Argentina.

With one caveat: "A full return as it was in March of this year is not what we project," he clarified.

The minister also guaranteed that the return of students to the classroom

will be universal

.

"From initial education to higher education, we will regain presence, (so that) all the boys have a presence in the school going through a dual system until we manage to overcome the pandemic," he said.

One of the issues that generated doubts and also debates throughout 2020 is the way in which the

students' knowledge would be evaluated

and what would happen with respect to a possible revalidation of some content that had not been acquired at acceptable levels due to difficulties imposed by the coronavirus.

Trotta assured that, by virtue of the complications to study in the middle of the isolation, to continue their studies the students will only have to "

accredit those learning that was actually carried out."

This situation will be modified at the end of the following year, foreseeing that gradually the possibility of learning of the students will be normalized.

"After 2021, those kids

will have to prove that educational trajectory

to get through the year," he concluded.

At the same time, he informed that

the contents

of the cycle that begins between February and March

will have to be modified

, in order to cover the shortcomings of the previous period.

"Each school is going to have to deploy the strategy for the learning that was left truncated and reorganize the contents to guarantee that learning," said Trotta.
