According to information from SPIEGEL TV, the large-scale police operation against organized gangs in northern Germany and Belrin has to do with a criminal real estate business.
The suspects are said to have succeeded in registering themselves as the owner of a property in the land register using forged records and documents.
The suspects apparently intended to resell the property valued at around three million euros.
The alleged fraud was discovered because the rightful owners found out about the maneuver and called the police in.
In the early morning, around 500 officers were deployed on a large-scale operation in Berlin, Brandenburg and Hamburg.
In a total of 33 searches, evidence and assets were to be secured.
Three suspects were also arrested.
Two of them belong to a well-known large family of Arab origin in Berlin, as the public prosecutor in Berlin announced.
According to information from SPIEGEL TV, it is about members of the so-called Abou Chaker clan.
The investigators also searched the apartment of a rocker from the Hells Angels.
According to the public prosecutor's office, 36 suspects of different nationalities have been investigated for forming a criminal organization for a year.
The suspects, who also include rockers, are said to have confiscated substantial assets through "violent debt collection", fraud and drug offenses.
"We fight against parallel justice and organized crime," tweeted the prosecutor.
