(ANSA) - PARIS, DEC 10 - The Internet Authority in France announced today that it has sentenced Google and Amazon to pay fines of 100 million and 35 million euros respectively for failure to comply with the legislation on cookies, the files released by the sites to users for record personal data and settings in relation to the services that the site offers.
The Authority particularly criticizes Google.fr and Amazon.fr for the practice of leaving "advertising trackers" on users' computers "without having previously obtained their agreement". (HANDLE).
