Covid: cases increase, victims decrease in 24 hours

There are 18,727 coronavirus test positives in the last 24 hours in Italy, according to data from the Ministry of Health. The victims are 761. Yesterday the positives were 16,999, the deaths 887. In total, in cases since the beginning of the epidemic they reached 1,805. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - ROME, 11 DEC - There are 18,727 positive tests for coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Italy, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

The victims are 761. Yesterday the positives were 16,999, the dead 887. In total in cases since the beginning of the epidemic they reached 1,805,873, the victims are 63,387.


    The swabs made in the last 24 hours are 190,416, almost 20,000 more than yesterday.

The positivity rate is 9.8%, stable compared to yesterday, when it was 9.9%.

There are 3,265 patients in intensive care for Covid-19 in Italy, with a negative balance between entries and exits of 26 units in the last 24 hours.

Daily admissions to resuscitation were 208. In the ordinary wards there are instead 28,562 people hospitalized, down by 526 units compared to yesterday.


    The currently positive in Italy are now 690,323 (-6,204), the recovered and discharged 1,052,163 (+24,169), 658,496 people (-5,652) are in home isolation.


    There are 3,883 positive tests in Veneto in the last 24 hours, the greatest number of cases among the regions as has been happening for several days.

This is followed by Lombardy 2,938, Puglia 1,813, Piedmont 1,553, Campania 1,340, Lazio 1,230, Emilia Romagna 1,211.
