Since Thursday, the number of patients in intensive care has fallen below the threshold of 3,000 patients.

A few days before deconfinement, the figures still do not see a clear drop.

This Friday, Public Health France counted 13,406 new Covid-19 contaminations in 24 hours, and 306 new deaths.

Thursday, the number of positive cases was 13,750. The rate of positive tests goes down to 6.3% (against 6.4% the day before), according to the new calculation methods of the institution.

In total, France has deplored 57,567 deaths from the coronavirus since the start of the epidemic.

At the hospital level, 2,874 patients in serious situation are in intensive care (against 2,949 Thursday), out of a total of 24,943 patients with Covid-19 treated.

The threshold for resuscitation, which was to be reached by December 15 (between 2,500 and 3,000) has therefore been reached, but that of contaminations (set at 5,000 cases per day) remains far too high.

Consequence: Prime Minister Jean Castex and Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, yesterday announced the maintenance of restrictions during deconfinement next Tuesday.

They also alerted to the situation of contaminations remaining too high.

"There will be more hospital patients on December 15 than on May 11 during the deconfinement," the Minister of Health also worried.
