The cafeteria in the criminal justice center in Munich smells of old times.
Hans-Jürgen von Bose is standing at the bar in front of a woman in a white coat and wants a sausage.
The professor fools around on his lunch break and looks younger than he really is.
He giggles at crazy jokes that lack any punch line.
The 66-year-old is not always funny.
"All of a sudden your brain sticks to the wall."
He is said to have frightened his girlfriend at the time with such slogans.
At least that's what it says in the woman's letters that were read in court.
He was a choleric, admitted von Bose in a long conversation with SPIEGEL two years ago.
When you talk to him today, his tone of voice is polite and he appears tender when he shows lawyers in the courtroom the photographs of his youngest children.
At first it is difficult to imagine that Hans-Jürgen von Bose could also have other traits.
From 1992 von Bose taught at the University of Music and Theater in Munich and one and a half years later he was appointed professor in the civil service for life.
Von Bose was married to a mechanical engineer and at the same time had intimate relationships with others.
