Lidl had planned a special campaign for fireworks sales - the hard lockdown is now thwarting the discounter's bill.
The
federal government
has decided on
restrictions for
New Year's Eve 2020
due to
Corona *
.
The discounter
Lidl
had
planned
a completely
new service
for its customers
for
New Year's Eve
.
But because of the lockdown, no
fireworks may be
sold
this year
.
Update from Monday, December
14th, 2020 1:13:11 p.m.:
The
New Year's Eve
-
Banging 2020
was ended on
Sunday
(December 13th,
2020
) with a bang.
Thus the
Lidl *
revolution
ends
before it could even begin.
The
discounter
had thought of an innovation to counteract the rush to start sales of
fireworks
.
This year, customers could have
reserved
their
rockets
and
firecrackers
in an
app
.
But at the federal and state conference on December 13th,
2020
, as part of the tougher
lockdown
, it was decided that the sale of fireworks on New Year's Eve
will be
prohibited
this year (
2020
).
Even if
fireworks
are
still allowed
to be
lit
on
New Year's Eve
,
stricter regulations
apply at the
turn of the year
2020/2021.
New Year's Eve revolution at Lidl - This is what the discounter planned when selling fireworks
First report from Tuesday, December 8th, 2020:
Kassel - This year there will be restrictions on the sale of
fireworks
on
New Year's Eve
, the federal and state governments agreed on this a few weeks ago.
However,
consumers
still have the option of
buying
their
rockets
from local
supermarkets
.
For the
first time this year, the
discounter
Lidl * is
offering a
new service
in
fireworks sales
for its customers.
Rockets and firecrackers
are part of
New Year's Eve
for Germans
and are still very popular.
However, the federal government recently passed new regulations from December: These also include generally applicable
firecrackers restrictions
that
restrict
this year's
sale
of fireworks.
However, a
ban
only applies to the
detonation of rockets
in busy squares, streets and bridges.

New Year's Eve 2020: Lidl and other supermarkets offer rockets and firecrackers
Some hardware stores like
Obi
and
Hagebau have
already announced that they will
cancel
fireworks sales
this year.
Supermarkets such as
Aldi *
,
Kaufland
and
Lidl
are nevertheless planning a wide range of
firecrackers and rockets
for their customers
to start sales on December 29th, 2020.
“We tailor our offer to the wishes and needs of our customers.
Experience shows that our customers
have been very
interested in
fireworks on New Year's Eve
for years, ”announced the press office of the discounter Aldi-Süd * and Aldi-Nord *, according to the technology magazine chip.de.
Also
Netto, Penny
and
Norma
take the fireworks without further restrictions this year in their range.
Thus,
consumers
do not have to do without
the bright colors in the sky on
New Year's Eve
, even during the
Corona crisis
.
New service for New Year's Eve 2020: Lidl is testing the “Click & Collect” function
This year the discount giant
Lidl is taking
a slightly different and revolutionary path
.
From now on, the discounter is offering a
new service
: Customers can
reserve the
fireworks they
want
from December 7th
and finally
pick up
the products from the relevant
branch
on
December 30th
.
The offer ranges from inexpensive
firecrackers and rockets
to slightly more expensive batteries for just under 20 euros.
In order to be able to reserve the corresponding fireworks, however,
Lidl customers
have
to download and install
the
new “Lidl Plus” app
on their smartphone.
After you have successfully registered there, the
reservation option will appear
the following days.
With this
new
service,
Lidl is
now also
testing
the “Click & Collect” function that other
supermarkets are
already offering in their branches.
