By buying Prisma Media, Vivendi wants to add the press to its empire

Already present in the audiovisual sector (Canal +, C8, CNews), production (Studiocanal), music (Universal Music), communication (Havas) and publishing (Editis), Vivendi should soon add a new activity to its empire. : the press.

The group controlled by Vincent Bolloré announced Monday that it had entered into exclusive negotiations with Gruner + Jahr, a newspaper subsidiary of German Bertelsmann, with a view to acquiring its French division Prisma Media.

The transaction, which could be completed during the first half of 2021, will bring Vivendi straight into the magazine press market.

Prisma Media is in fact the leader in France through some twenty brands with a strong reputation.
