The United States began the vaccination campaign against the coronavirus this Monday. Some of the first doses have been administered at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York. This State has been one of the most affected by the pandemic with more than 35,000 deaths. In Spain, the Government of the Balearic Islands has approved more severe limitations for the island of Mallorca for the next two weeks: it maintains a curfew at ten at night every day, including Christmas Eve, while the hotel industry will only give service on the terraces and they will have to close at six in the afternoon on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and the eve of public holidays. The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, assured this Monday that he expects the distribution of the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine in Spain to begin "from January 4 or 5," provided that on December 29 the European Agency for Medication approve its use. Illa has stressed that the autonomous communities can be calm about the vaccination process, since "there will be vaccines for everyone and there will be plenty of them", in response to the criticism launched by leaders of the Community of Madrid, who have doubted that they will have enough doses.
