Hannelore Elsner in 2013: She shaped the German cinema and TV landscape like no other

Hannelore Elsner died around a year and a half ago.
Now her son is making public in the magazine "Bunte" that the actress had suffered from cancer decades before her death.
"My mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 13. She didn't tell me about it until I turned 18," said Dominik Elstner.
Even later, she apparently did not discuss all the details with her son.
"She never wanted to burden me with the disease." He later found out that Elsner's liver had already been covered with metastases in 2016.
"She never talked to me about that."
Doctors kept telling his mother, who is also said to have suffered from leukemia, that it was over now, the son said.
“And then my mother did it again.
And again.
And again. ”That is why he thought last year that she would beat cancer again, said Elstner.
In contrast to his mother, the photographer wrote his last name Elstner - the actress had deleted the "t" from her name.
