"The background is a customer complaint about an unpleasant smell."
Before the
corona mask was
recalled
, there was a notice to which the manufacturer then reacted.
The company
commissioned the
Hohenstein Institute
to analyze a sample.
The result of the first analysis (sensor technology) was inconspicuous.
“During the more extensive chemical analysis,
aniline
was found in the
border of
a black mask,
” confirms the manufacturer.
"Aniline is a colorless, oily liquid used as a raw material for numerous pharmaceuticals, dyes and plastics."
Recall: lots of the corona mask were checked again
In the further course, corona masks from several
batches were examined
more closely.
Based on the data, the company was
able to narrow down
the deviation to batch
T100406 - black masks of size M and L.
The number is on the packaging in the lower left area.
It is now clear: The
corona mask affected
by the
recall
was not only sold at the
drugstore chain Müller
, but also via its own
online shop
.
Recall: The manufacturer informed about defects in the corona mask
The corona masks should no longer be used, the manufacturer appeals.

Anyone who has purchased a mask via the online shop can

return

Urgent recall for corona mask: the substance is so dangerous
Aniline
is a clear, colorless to slightly yellowish, oily liquid and is considered an intermediate in organic chemistry.
It is used, among other things, as a raw material for the production of paints and synthetic fibers.
This is a
powerful blood poison
that prevents oxygen from being transported in the blood.
The poison can be absorbed through the respiratory tract, by swallowing or through contact with the skin.
In the case of mild poisoning, symptoms and signs in the form of
blue discoloration of the skin
and fingernails
,
dizzy spells
and
states of agitation
occur.
The consequences of a higher concentration can range from
headaches
and
persistent dizziness
to life-threatening impaired
consciousness
and
shortness of breath
.
Long-term symptoms of intoxication manifest themselves in a
feeling of weakness

loss of appetite

cause
bladder cancer
.
