MILAN - A virtual cocktail bar with live streaming on Instagram to allow people to order drinks, watch their preparation live and have them delivered home.

It happens in Milan, where the Star Zagros Kebabbar restaurant proposes, starting from next Friday, the original solution, named 'Instabar', to cope with the economic difficulties set in motion by the Covid emergency and to give back to customers, especially the most loyal ones , "a taste of the dimension of conviviality that has been lost in the last months of forced closure to the public".

The virtual counter - explain the promoters - will be online during the weekends on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, from 9.30pm to 11pm, on the club's Instagram page until the evening activities are fully reopened.

"Our restaurant blends the gastronomic tradition of kebabs and mixing, hence the name 'Kebabbar' - explains the owner Emrah Karaman, 30, of Kurdish origins - and so far we have managed to stay afloat thanks to the delivery system we have internally developed, without aggregators or delivery apps. Home deliveries of food have worked well, but there is still a lot of distrust with respect to cocktails.

Despite the recent transition of Lombardy to the yellow zone, for clubs like ours, active especially after 6 pm, little has changed. "

The drinks that can be ordered during the live sessions, which range from the great classics to the signatures elaborated by the restaurant, are delivered to the homes of the Milanese in special bags containing the mixture, the ice and the toppings, to be then reassembled in the glass according to the instructions given by the bartenders .

A first test of Instabar had been carried out by the cocktail bar in April, during the lockdown, but the regulatory vacuum of the time with respect to the delivery of bagged blends had discouraged the owners from continuing with the initiative.
