The French government recommends wearing the mask during Christmas holidays, as recommended by the World Health Organization.
"If you spend your Christmas Eve with people who are outside your usual home, obviously the barrier gestures must be respected as scrupulously as possible, and this obviously involves wearing a mask," explained the government spokesperson Gabriel Attal after the Council of Ministers on Wednesday.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends wearing masks during Christmas family reunions and Christmas and New Year celebrations in Europe. Given the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic "there is a high risk of a new resurgence of the virus in the first weeks and the first months of 2021", indicated the European branch of the WHO.
