The vaccination campaign against the coronavirus in France will begin "from the last week of December", "if the conditions are met", said Wednesday Jean Castex, specifying that non-priority populations will wait "for the end of spring".
The Prime Minister conditioned the start of the campaign on the marketing authorization of the European Medicines Agency "expected for December 21" and on an opinion from the High Authority for Health issued "in the stride ”.
This “first phase will be spread over a period of six to eight weeks, to take into account the 21-day delay between the 1st vaccination and the booster”, added the Prime Minister, presenting the government's strategy to the Assembly. Jean Castex also underlined “that no vaccination” will be done without “informed consent having been expressed” especially in nursing homes.
