Announced Wednesday evening, Xavier Niel's decision to transfer his stake in
Le Monde
to an endowment fund
raises the question of what will happen to that of his co-shareholder Matthieu Pigasse.
Since the death in 2017 of Pierre Bergé, who had been alongside Niel and Pigasse since 2010, the founder of Free and the investment banker have coexisted, in equal parts, in Le Monde libre, which controls the press group (
