(ANSA) - VATICAN CITY, DEC 17 - The Pope returns to ask for access to vaccines and cures against Covid even for the most fragile.
"I renew the appeal to policy makers and the private sector to take appropriate measures to guarantee access to vaccines against Covid-19 and the essential technologies needed to assist the sick and all those who are poorer and more fragile": this is what we read in the Message for the 54th World Day of Peace which is celebrated on January 1, 2021. The pandemic has shown that "no one saves alone and no isolated nation state can ensure the common good of its population".
"In a time dominated by the throwaway culture - continues the Pope -, faced with the worsening of inequalities within nations and between them, I would like to invite the leaders of international organizations and governments, of the economic and scientific world, of social communication and educational institutions to take "a" compass "in hand to" set a common course for the globalization process, a truly human course ". The Pope asks to be "witnesses to the culture of care, to fill so many social inequalities". (HANDLE).
