Cutting a birthday cake - with a cup instead of a knife (@theroseperiod)

One woman's invention, a very brave invention, regarding the method of cutting a cake, managed to divide the people who were exposed to her on the net.

While some people cut the cake in half at a time until they reach triangles of the same size, others, like Kylie Jenner for example, prefer to cut pieces straight from the middle.

But instead of using a knife, or serving the cake in a bowl or plate, the tic-tac-toe uses @theroseperiod to cut her cake with ... a glass of wine.

The woman unveiled her technique during her daughter's 20th birthday party, and it's undoubtedly a non-conservative technique.

The video shows the daughter putting out the candles on the cake before each of the celebrants takes a glass of wine and creates a kind of ball out of the cake using the glass, and finally everyone launches glasses for life.

But there are quite a few questions that have popped up following the bizarre technique - isn't it easier to wash a small plate than delicate glasses of wine?

And more importantly, what happens if someone presses the cup too hard and the cup shatters into the cake?

From the moment it was released, the video was viewed more than 1.6 million times and received 457,000 likes.

And while some people called the trick a genius, there were others who disliked it.

"I think I discovered something new and cool," one reporter and another added, "I'm doing it at my next birthday party."

Tuesday called the technique: "Genius, life-changing, we eat the wrong cake."

As mentioned, there are those who doubted the method: "I see a lot of dishes that need to be washed," one article, another added: "You eat from sticky cups" and a third concluded: "I think I saw a crime being committed."
