From January 1, 2021, new regulations will come into force for mini-jobs.
For part-time workers, it is now important to be careful, otherwise there is a risk of unwanted tax payments.
Whether pupil, student or housewife: Many Germans earn extra money for their living with a mini job *.
In the new year, one change comes into effect that you should definitely be aware of.
Mini-job: the minimum wage will rise to 9.50 euros per hour in 2021
On January 1, 2021
, the minimum wage
will
rise
from 9.35 euros to
9.50 euros
.
Since the minimum wage also applies to mini-jobbers, they now have to calculate precisely so that they
do not accidentally exceed
the
limit of 450 euros per month
.
Above this limit, the employment relationship becomes
subject to social security and tax
.
"By exceeding the mini job limit, despite higher hourly wages, there may be less money left over for the employee," explained the managing director of the Federal Association of Wage Tax Aid Associations (BVL), Erich Nöll, in an interview with the German press agency (dpa ).
Therefore, employees should sit down with their employer at the turn of the year and discuss their number of hours.
But be careful:
the minimum wage will be raised again on July 1, 2021
.
Then mini jobbers have to do their math again in order to keep the 450 euro limit.
