Yesterday, about 75,000 tests were performed and the positive rate was 3.7%.

Today, about 40,000 tests were solved and the positive rate is only 2.7%.

732 corona patients are hospitalized in hospitals across the country, 445 of them in critical condition and 109 patients connected to respirators.

Yesterday and today 17 corona patients have died and the number of deaths since the outbreak of the plague stands at 3,070.

Meanwhile, Hebrew University researchers present a gloomy forecast for the coming months.

According to them, without preventive measures, the vaccination campaign is not expected to significantly improve mortality and morbidity by the end of January.

They also said that the coefficient of infection today ranges from 1.1 to 1.3 in Israel, even in the area of a medium and severe number of patients who are added every day, with a rapid increase in patients in the ultra-Orthodox sector.

Worse, the infection rate in the ultra-Orthodox sector stands at 1.5, which means the addition of 20 seriously ill patients to the health system every day.

The current increase according to the researchers is due to the opening of the trade when it is possible that due to Hanukkah celebrations you will see another increase.

However, the researchers emphasize that the opening of the education system did not cause an increase in the rate of infection and there is no abnormal outbreak in the system.

Investigators predict that in such a situation immediate entry into restraint will lead to further mortality ranging from 800 dead at best to another 2,000 at worst.

Regarding restraint, the researchers note that the difference between different types of restraint in relation to the population in the country is unknown.

In any case in the reality of starting a vaccine with restraint measures will lead to a reduction in the number of patients severely towards the end of January.

Non-initiation of restraint, however, means an additional 30-40 deaths in fact on each follow-up day.

Based on the assumption that there will be rapid vaccination activity and restraint measures, it appears that the health system will not reach a state of failure in terms of dealing with the corona and with the flu at the same time.

In any case, the experts recommend not to close the education system and start restraining measures immediately, even in the run-up to the closure later on, when the current dangerous area of illness is the city of Jerusalem.
