Swallowing and swallowing at the abyss: This »crime scene« shows the struggle for survival of the homeless in Vienna. Strong characters, weak plot.

The scenario:

Vienna from below, Vienna from above.

After the murder of a homeless man, Fellner (Adele Neuhauser) and Eisner (Harald Krassnitzer) are confronted with poor people and noble donors.

A hospital company organizes fundraisers for people who live on the streets and gives them free examinations.

Isn't it just the pursuit of profit behind the generosity of the health bigwigs?

The highlight:

The medical-industrial complex as a dark power.

After the thriller about the Globuli Mafia two months ago, the healthcare industry is also becoming a projection screen for wild conspiracy theories in Vienna's new “Tatort”.

Nothing against a fundamental criticism of the neoliberal realignment of the health system - but as overwrought as it is expressed in this "crime scene", it drowns out the character drawings with which the tricksters, drinkers and survivors without shelter are shown here.

The picture:

The dry alcoholic Bibi at the bar of a bar called "Brazilian", where she wants to collect information about the dead from homeless drunkards.

Nobody pays them any attention, Bibi calls out: "I'll spend a whiskey for an answer."

The dialogue:

Fellner and Eisner in the morgue, with the homeless man's body in front of them.

Eisner: "We found boxes of benzos at the crime scene."

Coroner: “The blood test shows no signs of such intoxication.

So that bit of blood that I could still find in all that alcohol. "

Fellner: "That means he didn't take all the medication."

Coroner: Obviously not.

Very foresighted by him.

At his level, the benzos would have got him underground faster than anything else.

The so-called Viennese mixture. "

The song:

"La Paloma".

The sea shanty popularized by Hans Albers and Freddy Quinn is played in the instrumental version, while the investigators are looking for a suspect in the "Brazilian".

Swaying and swallowing on the edge.

The review:

6 out of 10 points.

The overloaded paranoia finale would not have been necessary - this "crime scene" is always strongest when it is close to the weakest.
