(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 20 - Announced by the siren of a patrol boat, the Medinea and Antarctica fishing boats entered the inlet of the New Port of Mazara del Vallo, with on board the 18 fishermen seized in Libya and released last Thursday after 108 days of imprisonment.
The two boats left Benghazi around one in the morning on Friday and sailed for just under 60 hours.
Family members and authorities are waiting for them on the quay.
After the visit, which will be carried out on board by a doctor.
All covid-19 fishermen are negative in rapid swabs, waiting for the outcome of the molecular ones.
Pietro Marrone, commander of the fishing boat Medinea, complains: "we were treated very badly".
