Covid: tests and positives drop, never so few deaths since 8/11

There are 15,104 coronavirus swab positives in Italy in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health. There are 352 victims, never so few in a single day since last November 8, when there were 331. Yesterday there were 16 positives.


(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 20 - There are 15,104 coronavirus swab positives in Italy in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

There are 352 victims, never so few in a single day since last November 8, when they were 331.


    Yesterday there were 16,308 positives, 553 dead.


    There are 137,420 coronavirus swabs carried out in the last 24 hours, down by almost 40,000 compared to 176,185 yesterday.

The positivity rate is 11%, up 1.8% from 9.2% yesterday.


    Intensive care patients are down by 41 units, in the balance between admissions and exits.

On the other hand, admissions to ordinary wards decrease by 206 units.

There are now 2,743 patients in intensive care, with 121 admissions per day.

Patients with symptoms are 25,158.

In home isolation there are 594,859 people (+2,841).

The currently positive ones are 622,760 (+2,594, the first ascent of the figure since 13 December), the discharged and healed 1,261,626 (+12,156).


    The regions that recorded the highest number of positive buffers in the last 24 hours are: Veneto 3,869, Lombardy1,795, Emilia Romagna 1,751, Lazio 1,213, Campania 891, Piedmont829.
