Recall: Eating pudding can cause food poisoning

The online consumer portal produktwarnung.eu published the recall.

According to experts

, the

bacterium

found

is an

“omnipresent germ”.

The Bacillus cereus occurs particularly frequently in rice.

With germ counts of over 100,000 germs per gram, the bacterium forms two

 toxins responsible

for

food poisoning

.

In individual cases,

symptoms of poisoning

were also observed

at a concentration well below 6,000 germs per gram.

A

toxin

can cause

nausea

and

vomiting

after consumption

.

Less common consequences are abdominal cramps and diarrhea.

Heat and acid cannot harm the poison.

The pudding affected by the recall remains harmful to health even after heating.

The other toxin leads to watery

diarrhea

after 8 to 16 hours

.

This toxin is sensitive to heat and acids.
