(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 22 - Lux Vide, historic production company, announces a new major international project for 2021, SANDOKAN.
From an idea of the producer Luca Bernabei, inspired by the popular Pirate Cycle of Malaysia, the adventure novels signed by Emilio Salgari, the TV series already boasts two exceptional names in the cast: the Turkish star Can Yaman (Daydream-Le Alidel Sogno, Bitter Sweet - Ingredients of love), man of the year 2019 for GQ, who will play the role of the protagonist and Luca Argentero (DOC, Mangia Prega Ama, Fratelli Unici) who will play his faithful right arm Yanez de Gomera.
The series, written by Alessandro Sermoneta (Diavoli, Purchèfinisca bene) and Davide Lantieri (Odio l'Estate, I delitti delBarlume), will be freely adapted from Salgari's novels, re-imagining the world of Mompracem's Le Tigri in a modern key and giving greater space to the female point of view of brave heroines such as "The Pearl of Labuan" Lady Marianna, whose interpreter is still unpublished.
The first season, produced by Luca Bernabei, is currently under development for 8 episodes of 50 minutes and has already aroused the interest of the major national, international and major platform broadcasters.
The start of filming, between the large Lux Vide studios in Formello and exotic international locations, is scheduled for summer 2021. (HANDLE).
