(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 23 - A large depression area from Western Europe will approach Italy over the next night.
The perturbed system associated with it will lead to a progressive worsening of the weather conditions on the central-northern regions, starting with a decisive reinforcement of ventilation, especially on the central-northern Apennine ridges.
Based on the available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protection in agreement with the regions involved - which are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned - has issued a warning of adverse weather conditions.
The weather phenomena, impacting on the different areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin available on the Department's website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it).
From early tomorrow morning, Thursday 24 December, the notice provides for strong to stormy south-westerly winds on Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Marche and Umbria, especially on the respective Apennine sectors, with storm surges on the exposed coasts.
