"Thousands of Roman public establishments adhere to the national protest campaign against yet another government measure which ordered their closure during the Christmas holidays".
This is what the main associations of public businesses, represented by Sergio Paolantoni, president of Fipe-Confcommercio Rome and Claudio Pica president of Fiepet-Confesercenti of Rome and Lazio, affirm in a joint note.
"Starting from today and for the duration of the holidays, the locals of the city will display a protest sign at the government address to say enough is enough - he adds - Enough to be forced again to keep the shutters down after the long period of the first lockdown and Enough of the regulatory chaos that for ten months has continued to penalize companies in the sector ". "The sector's anger and exasperation are summarized in a unified manifesto signed by Fipe and Fiepet, the main associations representing the public businesses of Confcommercio and Confesercenti. We are exasperated - they say - the productive fabric of the capital is at the end. Therefore, like Fipe -Confcommercio and Fiepet-Confesercenti we ask the Government for restitutions calculated on the actual losses and above all structural measures aimed at solving the very serious debt problems of companies and those relating to leases. But above all we ask for a plan that gives guarantees on the timing of reopening of the public in January exercises because our businesses are not a switch that can be turned on and off at will.
