A major demonstration against the state corona measures planned for December 30th in Berlin must not take place.
"A careful examination of the assembly authorities has shown that holding the assembly - especially in the current pandemic situation - leads to an immediate threat to public safety and order," the police said.
According to their own statements, the organizers, who belong to the so-called lateral thinker scene, expected 22,500 people to attend the rally on the central street of June 17.
Originally they wanted to protest on New Year's Eve.
Because of the general ban on gathering in Berlin, the organizers had brought the demonstration forward by one day.
Public security includes "the protection of central legal interests such as life, health, freedom, honor and property of the individual as well as the integrity of the legal system and state institutions and events," the police justified the ban for December 30th.
