The products accidentally receive an allergen that is not labeled on the packaging.
Various snack products are currently affected by a recall.
The packaging of the crisps and peanuts does not fulfill its obligation to label food.
This can be dangerous for allergy sufferers.

"Ingredients that can trigger allergic or other intolerance reactions" must be specified, as can

There is also a list of the 14 most common
triggers of allergies and intolerances

These include, for example, peanuts, nuts or eggs (and products made from them).
If food labeling is inadequate, this can be
life-threatening
for allergy sufferers.

Recall of chips and peanuts: allergen not labeled
The
snack manufacturer Lorenz Snack-World
has now made such a
mistake
.
Certain products with a
wasabi seasoning
unintentionally contain the
allergen mustard
, which can also be found on the list just mentioned.
This is not indicated on the corresponding packaging
, which is why the company based in Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt is recalling the affected products.
These are the "Crunchips WOW Cream & Mild Wasabi" and the Wasabi peanuts with certain best-before dates.

The portal

warns on its website of an "intolerance reaction of allergy type 1." Allergy sufferers will therefore
experience
an
immediate allergic reaction of
the body immediately after or during the allergen consumption.
Despite a wide range of regulations, the food industry is particularly often affected by recalls.
The most common causes are also known.
Lorenz Snack-World asks the consumers on its own website for
forgiveness
and calls on
allergy sufferers not to consume the products under any circumstances
.
"In the case of sensitive allergy sufferers, this can lead to
intolerance reactions
," says the company on its website.
Accordingly, the products mentioned are currently being removed from the stores.
Customers can return products they have already purchased for a replacement.
