(See 'Minister, in GB another one identified ...' at 16.20) (ANSA) - ROME, 23 DEC - The British Minister of Health Matt Hancock stressed that the further new variant of Covid-19 that emerged in the United Kingdom would be linked to South Africa.
The two cases found are in fact contacts of cases that have arrived in the country from South Africa in recent weeks.
This is "a very worrying development", added the minister, explaining that the new variant has a greater transmission capacity and has already undergone mutations.
