(ANSA) - ROME, 24 DEC - With the 18,040 positives of the last 24 hours in Italy, the two million registered cases since the beginning of the epidemic have been exceeded, according to data from the Health Minister.
They are now 2,009,317.
The victims are 505: a total of 70,900 deaths since the beginning of the epidemic.
The currently positive are 593,632 (-5,184), the healed and remitted 1,344,785 (+22,718).
193,777 swabs were carried out in the last 24 hours.
Yesterday there were 175,364, about 18,000 fewer.
The positive rate is 9.3% (yesterday 8.3%).
Finally, the number of patients in intensive care for Covid-19 decreased by 35, in the balance between entries and exits.
The entrances of the day are 149 (yesterday 216).
In total, there are now 2,589 hospitalized patients in intensive care.
The hospitalized with symptoms in the ordinary wards are 24,070, down by 476 units compared to yesterday.
The regions with the highest number of positive swabs are Veneto3.837, Lombardy 2.656, Emilia Romagna 1.692, Lazio 1.519, Puglia 1.458, Campania 1.156, Piedmont 1.057.
