It would have been better to go home: on his 500-meter walk home from a party on Christmas Eve, a drunk driver had three accidents.
The 58-year-old rammed three parked cars on the short distance in Erfurt, the police said.
Instead of taking care of the damage, the drunk continued his journey - but received a visit from the police a little later.
A witness gave a clue.
At home, the man initially pretended to be asleep "with little acting talent," it was said.
The officers rang him out and asked him to take a breath alcohol test.
The result: over two per thousand.
The man was then taken to the police station to have his blood drawn.
His driver's license was confiscated.
He is awaiting proceedings because of endangering road traffic and unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident.
