A violent explosion rocked downtown Nashville, Tennessee, at around 6:30 a.m. local time (1:30 p.m. French time).
Windows and walls of buildings were blown away by the magnitude of the detonation.
According to the spokesperson for the local fire department, three people were taken to hospital.
None of them are in serious condition, but this toll is not definitive.
The reasons for the explosion are currently uncertain, but local media suggest that a vehicle is involved.
