The executive does not let go of its reform of unemployment insurance!
While the labor market is paying the full brunt of the consequences of the crisis, the government and more particularly the Ministry of Labor do not wish to hear about a scrapping of one of the major reforms at the start of the five-year term.
And for good reason, for nearly eight months, the speech of the executive has not moved one iota on the issue.
Last May at the National Assembly, Muriel Pénicaud - then Minister of Labor - explained that the reform had to be postponed because of the crisis, but was not canceled because "
the tensions on the labor market have not disappeared.
".
On July 17, on the sidelines of the first high mass of social dialogue, it was the turn of Prime Minister Jean Castex himself to declare a new postponement, while announcing that the unemployment insurance reform was "
a good reform
”, and that it had to be“
completed
”.
