Two masked men came closer to him near an underpass.
The two therefore attacked the couple and hit the man.
The 26-year-old suffered serious injuries.
The unknown perpetrators fled.
Attempts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful. According to the information, he died at the scene of the crime "due to massive violence against the head."
His 30-year-old wife suffered only minor injuries.
The police are looking for the perpetrators, but so far without success.
A special commission has now been set up.
The man killed is said to have been a Pakistani who preached in a mosque in Stuttgart.
According to the investigators, there are still no precise indications of a motive.
