The countdown for the Globe Soccer Awards is at the final stages: tomorrow the usual holiday appointment is scheduled in Dubai that assigns the awards to the best players and coaches of the year.
From Cristiano Ronaldo to Robert Lewandoski, from Jurgen Klopp to Gian Piero Gasperini, the 'elite' of world football has met in the Emirates where the 15th edition of the Dubai International Sports Conference 2020, the flagship event, will also take place of the Dubai Sports Council, the local Ministry of Sport, and will develop exceptionally this year during a single in-depth panel, chaired by exceptional speakers such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski and Iker Casillas, and preceded by the opening words by Fifa president Gianni Infantino.
The event will take place in the presence of Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.
The n.1 of world football will open the meeting and there is great anticipation for Infantino's speech in a year marked by the Covid pandemic, which has put the global football movement to the test.
Three speakers of the session, three champions on the Dubai stage.
First guest Ronaldo, who this year is vying for two of the prizes up for grabs: the Best Player of the Century 2001-2020, with Lionel Messi and Mohamed Salah, and the Best Player of the Year, again with Messi and Lewandowski.
The second guest of the panel will be the Polish forward of the Bayern European champion to bring, alongside Cristiano, his own vision of football on the stage in Dubai.
The third and last guest will be Casillas, who in his long career at Real Madrid has been able to experience firsthand, among the posts of the most successful club ever, the highest levels of football in the last twenty years.
The Awards ceremony: will take place at 7.15 pm local time (4.15 pm in Italy), immediately after the Conference which will start at 6.30 pm local time (3.30 pm in Italy).
The president of the Dubai Sports Council, Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will deliver all the prizes this year.
There are also many names of the candidates running for the awards: the 'bench champions': in the triad in the final with Klopp and Flick there will be Gasperini who will bring a bit of Italy to Dubai thanks to his Atalanta.
