George Blake, the former British double-agent secret agent, 'mole' for the Soviet KGB during the 1950s before fleeing through the Iron Curtain, has died at the age of 98.
This was reported by Russian news agencies.
"Legendary intelligence officer George Blake died today," Russian foreign intelligence service SVR spokesman Sergei Ivanov told state news agency Tass.
Blake, he said, "sincerely loved our country and admired the achievements of our people during World War II."
