Coronavirus in France: 363 deaths and 2,960 cases detected in 24 hours

The figures released today confirm that the French will have to take their precautions and respect barrier gestures for some time to come.

If the trend towards a high number of infections is also linked to the increase in the number of screenings, the fact remains that 2,960 new contaminations have been identified in the last 24 hours.

This figure should also be taken with a grain of salt: it is traditionally lower on Mondays, due to the most recent data reports which could not all be carried out during the past weekend.

2,694 patients in intensive care

The total number of deaths has been 63,109 since the start of the health crisis, health services say.

The situation within hospital services remains more or less stable, as has been the case for several days now.

This Monday, 24,645 patients remained hospitalized in the country for coronavirus contamination, including 1,217 new admissions since Sunday.

Out of this total, 2,694 patients present with a state of health which requires treatment within the intensive care unit.

That is 229 new admissions in 24 hours.
