Italian premiere at the Giffoni Film Festival for "My hero Alexis" ("Mi amigo Alexis"), the Chilean film that sees Alexis Sanchez's debut as an actor.

The feature film, shown to 300 young jurors of the Festival, won over the guys from Elements + 10 (section reserved for viewing the film).

A story of football but also of misery and tenacity in pursuing one's dreams, with the poor suburbs of Chile in the background, which sparked a long debate at the end of the screening.

From the producers of 'Una mujer fantasia', Oscar winner for best foreign language film in 2018, the story tells of Tito, 12, who has a passion for football and by chance realizes every child's dream: to meet his idol Alexis Sánchez.

The unexpected friendship between the boy and the footballer teaches both of them something: Tito discovers his true path in life and Alexis finds the places and stories of his childhood that remind him of why he loves football.

"I think people will be surprised at how Alexis plays," commented director Alejandro Fernández Almendras.

"My hero Alexis - says the director - is the story of a boy and his father, of a family that struggles to move forward in a country that hardly offers opportunities. Football is passion and joy, but it is also a source of ambitions for so many parents who see in their children the only possibility to realize the dreams that have been denied them, a rope to hold on to to escape poverty. This pressure that overwhelms so many children is the dramatic center of a story in which love will be able to overcome what ambition threatens. A mix of comedy and drama that owes its charm to the work of dozens of children who love football and who transmit what is rarely found on the screen: the joy and authentic passion of those who chases your dreams ".
