Edelstein said this morning that so far we have vaccinated 379,000 people in Corona in Israel, and that the rate continues to rise.

"The beginning of the second week of the vaccination campaign, and we are scraping the 100,000 vaccines a day. This is thanks to the amazing work of the Ministry of Health, the HMOs, the hospitals and MDA.

And most of all - thanks to you, the citizens of Israel, that you get involved and get vaccinated.

We will continue like this, and we will also increase the pace even further. "

According to our world in data website, which monitors the state of immunization for corona in the world and centralizes the data from Oxford University, Israel is in first place in the rate of immunization for corona per capita.

In second place is Bahrain, in third place Britain, followed by the United States and Russia in fourth and fifth places respectively.

Meanwhile, yesterday

Corona Commissioner Prof. Nachman Ash gave a press briefing ahead of the closure, which took effect at 5:00 p.m.

"Closure - a step that is neither easy nor simple, but it saves lives," he stressed.

"We may be able to begin to see the impact of quarantine within two weeks. We will look at population immunization and how it affects the number of critically ill patients - and accordingly consider what the recommendation for continued quarantine will be.
